
President Ma Mao of the Republic of Kiribati Visited AVIC International
On January 5th, President Ma Mao of the Republic of Kiribati visited AVIC International, and the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo, accompanied the visit. The chairman, Liu Hongde, and Executive Vice President, Li Qifeng, of the company met with the guests.
At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President Ma Mao paid a state visit to China from January 4th to 11th. It wast the first time that the Kiribati president visited China after the two countries resumed the diplomatic relationship on September 28th, 2019.
Liu Hongde extended a warm welcome to President Ma Mao and his party, and introduced the overall situation of AVIC International to the guests, reviewed the history of cooperation with Kiribati civil aircraft company, and expressed their willingness to deepen the cooperation between the two sides.
President Ma Mao expressed gratitude to AVIC International for his kind reception and proposed that the air transportation is extremely important for such island countries as Kiribati. He hoped that China would visit Kiribati as soon as possible to jointly discuss the fleet renewal, aviation infrastructure construction and cooperation in other fields.
The meeting laid a good foundation for future cooperation between Kiribati and China in the aviation field.
