
Ambassador to Nigeria Cut Ribbon for Completion of Kathmandu International Airport Runway Reconstruction Project
On December 28, the project for reconstruction of runway and smooth road of the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, undertaken by AVIC INTL engineering company, was completed and handed over to the Nigerian side. The Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, the Nepal's Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai, and the director of Civil Aviation Administration, Bob correll, etc., attended the handover ceremony and cut the ribbon.
The Tribhuvan Airport is currently an unique international airport in Nepal. The restoration project started on April 3 this year, which mainly includes the repair of the main runway and taxiway and the installation of the main runway center line lights and other auxiliary projects. This is also the largest runway maintenance and upgrade work at the airport since 1975.
