On December 22, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta witnessed the lighting ceremony of the office building of the Global Trade Centre (GTC) amid gorgeous fireworks. "As the government of Kenya, we applaud the AVIC team for this milestone, and as a flagship project in Kenya's Vision 2030, I am proud to see it come to fruition," said President Uhuru Kenyatta after watching the GTC propaganda film.

Ma Chengyuan, chief representative of AVIC International Holding Corporation in Kenya, expressed his gratitude to the Kenyan government for its support for the GTC project during the construction period. The GTC project not only lays a solid foundation for China and Chinese enterprises to improve their brand image in East Africa and expand their follow-up development opportunities, but also reflects China's strength on the background of the Belt and Road Initiative. The successful lighting ceremony of the GTC office building marks that the most exquisite office space in the Nairobi business center is officially ready for rent.

Located in the most prosperous area of Nairobi, the GTC project consists of the highest standard office building in East Africa, one 35-story five-star luxury hotel, four 24- to 28-story residential and serviced apartments, and the luxury boutique shopping mall. With the total value of around 510 million U.S. dollars, this project has created employment for thousands of locals and it is bound to create more business opportunities for the Kenyan economy.

A logo saying "I LOVE NAIROBI" is printed on the high-rise window of the GTC office building, expressing everyone's love and appreciation for the city, showing the cultural diversity and vitality of this city, and conveying positive idea to the Nairobi residents and visitors.
