New Journey in New Year, Y-12 Shines over the Pacific

 (Correspondent: Huang He) On January 1, with the first ray of sunshine, Y-12E which was delivered by AVIC INTERNATIONAL to Micronesia began its emergency transition. After the long flight, it arrived in theYapStateat 7 p.m. on January 2 via Chuuk and Woleai. As planned, Y-12E will fly the Yap-Koror flight twice a week, in order to fill the gap brought by the United Airlines 737 stopping to fly the international routes of theFederated States of Micronesia.

On January 4, the senior mission, which was led by Peter Christian, President of the Federated States of Micronesia, and composed of ministers of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Justice and governor of the Yap State, took Y-12E to Koror, capital of Palau, for discussing matters on route opening.

On January 5, at the invitation of the traditional leaders of Ulithi and Fais, the outer islands of the Yap State, Chinese ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia Li Jie took Y-12E to the outer islands with ministers of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Justice of the Federated States of Micronesia, governor of the Yap State and local traditional leaders. They received a warm welcome.

On the evening of January 5, Y-12E carried out the emergency rescue mission and provided timely treatment to the seriously ill children.

Peter Christian, President of theFederated States of Micronesia, said that Y-12E was not just an aircraft, and it was also a bridge connecting the people in both countries. Alex, CEO of Caroline Islands Airlines, said that compared with company’s existing aircraft, Y-12E is simply like a rocket!
