Ghana President Attended the Commencement Ceremony of AVIC International Vocational Education Projec

On December 1, the commencement ceremony of the Ghana vocational education and training upgrade project was successfully held in Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana, and was attended by Ghana President, Akufo-Addo. The government officials who attended the meeting also included Ghana’s Minister of Education, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, Wang Shiting, the governor of Ashandi province of Ghana, etc. The members of the leading party group of AVIC International, deputy general manager, Liu Jun and the relevant personnel attended the ceremony.

President Akufo-Addo said that a country’s competitiveness is largely reflected in the cultivation and employment of highly skilled personnel. Strengthening vocational education is the specific measure against the ruling programs such as "Free-charged High School" and "One county, One Factory" proposed by the government. The Ghanaian government thanked the Chinese government and the Export-Import Bank of China for their support to the vocational education project, and looked forward to the project's contribution to enhancing Ghana's national competitiveness and industrialization process, and serving the people of Ghana in terms of equal education and poverty reduction.

The ambassador Wang Shiting said that the cooperation in education and human resources between the two countries is crucially important to the development of Ghana. China is willing to work with Canada to run a vocational and technical education and training upgrade project to continuously deepen the friendship between the two countries.

Executive Vice President Liu Jun accompanied the President to visit the project's text and graphics presentations, introduced the situation of AVIC International vocational education project, and promised to people from all walks of life that AVIC International would go all out to complete the project with high quality on time, helping more young people get training and employment opportunities.
