Full-scale Commencement of 6th Gen Flexible AMOLED Production Line Project of Tianma Display Technology Co., Ltd., Xiamen
On May 18th, the 6th generation flexible AMOLED production line project of Tianma Display Technology Co., Ltd., (Tianma) commenced in a full scale in the Xiamen Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone. Huang Xiaozhou, the Deputy Mayor of Xiamen and the Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Industrial Zone, Zhuang Rongliang, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Industrial Zone and the Director of the Management Committee, Wei Jinzhong, the Director of the AVIC Industrial Exploitation Department, You Lei, the Chairman of the Board of AVIC International Shenzhen, Chen Hongliang, the Chairman of the Board of Tianma Micro-electronics Co., Ltd., and the Tianma, and the person in charge of the shareholders of Tianma and the senior managing group of Tianma as well as other leaders attended the ceremony of full-scale commencement.
In the full-scale commencement ceremony, another centralized commencement ceremony for the project of "Great Improvement inside the Island and Great Development outside the Island" was connected live. At about 10:00 in the morning, Mayor of Xiamen, Zhuang Jiahan declared the project commencement. Hu Changsheng, the Municipal Party Secretary, Chen Jiadong, the Director of the Standing Committee of Municipal People's Congress, and Wei Keliang, Chairman of the Municipal Committee of CPPCC, totally four leading groups, witnessed the ceremony.
Based on deep analysis on advanced technologies, industrial patterns, and project risks and verification of market survey, Tianma has fully exerted its rich experience and outstanding advantages in aspects of technology, process, operation, management, talents, and customers. On August 12th, 2019, Tianma, together with the Xiamen Torch High-tech Industrial Zone Management Committee, signed the Construction Project of 6th Generation Flexible AMOLED Production Line.
The project investment is 4.8 billion RMB and will occupy a total area of about 1,500 mu with a total area of structure of about 1.26 million square meters. The technological process cleaning zone is about 600 thousand square meters in the total area of structure. It is the largest single factory for flexible AMOLED currently in China. After the construction, it is estimated to build a design capacity of machining 48 thousand flexible display panels, which will help Tianma's scale of flexible AMOLED production ascend amongst the first three in the world. Based on the AMOLED capacity expansion, this line will inject the forward-looking innovative technologies in the industry and will also continue leading the market demand and the flexible AMOLED technology trend.
In the display industry, technological upgrade is fast but irreversible. As a leading display enterprise in China, since its founding, Tianma has always kept pace with the mainstream trend in the industry so that it has succeeded in transformation of technology and development of new generation products, accomplishing a "corner overtaking". In addition, as the next generation mainstream, flexible AMOLED technology has grown fast in market occupation ratio. Because of its broad and wide scenario application, great potential is contained. The construction of a new production line this time brings in great significance on supporting the objective of leading in the industry globally and strengthening the layout of mainstream technologies.
It is said that currently Tianma has many industrial bases in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Wuhan, Xiamen, Chengdu, and Japan with a total capital exceeding 65 billion RMB. Completion of this project will further strengthen Tianma's core competitiveness and help it reach the goal of an industrial size of hundreds of billion RMB.
